Data Protection

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), please note that the James Hutton Institute’s Data Protection Officer is Thorntons Law LLP, effective from 1st February 2018. 

Should you have any queries relating to data Subject Access Requests (SAR) including e.g. if you wish to submit a request for rectification to your personal data held by the Institute, to request that it stops processing your personal data, to withdraw your consent to the Institute’s processing, or to ask the Institute to delete all personal data it holds on you, please contact in the first instance the Information Governance Officer, The James Hutton Institute on SAR@hutton.ac.uk.  

Please direct any communications surrounding any urgent data protection matters, Privacy Impact Assessments, communications with the ICO or Data Security Breaches direct to the DPO on DPO@hutton.ac.uk or via telephone on 01382 346814.
