Come along to meet us and find out more about the James Hutton Institute's work at the annual Dundee Flower and Food Festival in the city's Camperdown Park.

You will find us in the food marquee and this year we have two hands on activities for all the family to enjoy.

  • Feeding the World - an activity to find out how the earth's soils can feed a rapidly increasing population with declining resources. This activity explains how we need to find ways to improve the use, and reduce the abuse, of our natural resources to keep feeding the world's population.
  • The Pipit Run Game - a board game where the player tries to make sure the pipit can feed her chicks while avoiding natural hazards. The game teaches the importance of habitats and methods of land management and their importance in conserving

Highlights and special guests at this year's festival include cookery writer Mary Berry, Tom and Henry Herbert – The Fabulous Baker Brothers, garden writer and presenter Alys Fowler, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, the World Jampionships and Woodlands 4 Yew.
