Soil forensics expert Professor Lorna Dawson of the James Hutton Institute is joining a weekend of special events at the Satrosphere in Aberdeen to celebrate the science used to help solve crimes.

She will be speaking at 11am on Sunday 10 February on ‘Secrets of Soil’ where you will learn about soil forensics and how soil has been used in several high profile cases, both for intelligence for search and as evidence in court. It is a 45 minute talk and 15 minute demonstration.

Other events taking place during the weekend are looking at using light to solve crime and analyse tread patterns, finger printing and analysis with Seonaid McLaren, Scene Examination Supervisor, Scottish Police Services Authority, Forensics Services North and a CSI Workshop with Chris Grannifcliffe, National Lead Scientist, Scottish Police Services Authority.

Full details of the weekend events can be found on the Satrosphere events page.
