Roger Owen is Head of Ecology at SEPA and represents CAMERAS on the Policy Research Advisory Group for the Centre of Expertise for Waters (CREW). Roger is a graduate of Dundee University and has a PhD in technological Economics from the University of Stirling. This talk will describe how SEPA are developing their thinking on the use of an Ecosystems Services approach to environmental risk management. The aim is to achieve better and more sustainable environmental decision-making by adapting SEPA’s regulatory and non-regulatory decision-making processes. This really does need close partnerships between policy-makers, researchers and practitioners.
