The James Hutton Institute will have two displays at this year's Royal Highland Show; in the Children's Discovery Centre and for the very first time its own stand nearby in Avenue Q.

We will be welcoming visitors to talk about the many different aspects of our work and children will be able to try out some hands-on activities.

Scientists from the James Hutton Institute will also be taking part in the Scotland Food and Drink Cookery Theatre where they will talk about the science behind our food alongside top chefs and colleagues from the University of Aberdeen Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health. The demonstrations will take place on Thursday 21 June at 10.30am and 1pm and Saturday 23 June at 3.30pm.

The James Hutton Research Institute is the result of the merger in April 2011 of MLURI and SCRI. This merger formed a new powerhouse for research into food, land use, and climate change.
