Many businesses are trying to distinguish themselves from their competitors, attract new clients and win new markets. Getting recognition for good environmental practices through VIBES – Scottish Environment Business Awards could be the solution.

The VIBES Awards are held each year to recognise and showcase best practice by businesses in Scotland which are taking significant steps to improve or reduce their impact on the environment, often saving money in the process. The awards aim to encourage the efficient use of resources, enhance the competitiveness of businesses, improve environmental performance and support the wider goals of sustainable development including social benefits through community and staff involvement.

The awards are a partnership between Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Scottish Government, Scottish Water, Scottish Enterprise, Highland and Islands Enterprise, Zero Waste Scotland, and Energy Saving Trust. They are further supported by CBI Scotland, the Institute of Directors, Federation of Small Businesses, Bright Green Business, Quality Scotland and Scottish Council for Development and Industry.

The James Hutton Institute will host a talk by VIBES representatives where delegates will be able to find out more about good environmental practices, support available and the award application process. The event is free to attend and will include presentations from previous winners who will give a personal insight into their VIBES experience and the innovative work that won them recognition. To book a place, visit the Eventbrite event page.

The application process for VIBES 2019 will open on 27th of March and closes on 10th May at 5pm. Please visit www.vibes.org.uk for more information.
