The Scottish Society for Crop Research (SSCR), Combinable and Energy Crops sub-committee would like to invite you to join their Winter meeting "Making the Most of Your Soils".

This is a biennial meeting held by the Society to talk about the challenges facing arable farming. This year the focus is on the importance of soil and soil health. The guest speaker is Julian Gold, who was awarded 'Soil Farmer of 2019' and so knows a thing or two about soils.

We will also have presentations by Hutton researchers describing their findings in relation to improving soil resilience, as well as an organic farmer's approach to sustainable soils.

We have had to change our physical meetings to online events, but that does not mean the content will be any less relevant, interesting or compelling. We are looking forward to this new way of delivering our meetings as a way to continue to engage with members and other interested people, to do so safely and without the need for travel at a time when the weather may be adverse.

The meeting will take place on Thursday 25 February 2021 from 1.00pm – 3.00pm.

If you would like to attend this meeting please register here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/sscr-making-the-most-of-your-soils-registration-140263033509. A link to the meeting will be sent to registered attendees nearer the time.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch by emailing events@hutton.ac.uk.

The James Hutton Research Institute is the result of the merger in April 2011 of MLURI and SCRI. This merger formed a new powerhouse for research into food, land use, and climate change.
