The British Council and the Mexican National Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT) have launched the programme 'Researcher Links [1]' to encourage international research collaboration between young researchers from the UK and Mexico.
We are now inviting Early Career Researchers from the UK and Mexico to apply to attend this binational workshop on Genomics Research on Plant-Parasite Interactions to Increase Food Production that will take place in the city of Leon in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico.
The workshop is being coordinated by Dr. Jorunn Bos (James Hutton Institute & University of Dundee, UK) and Dr. Alejandra Rougon-Cardoso (UNAM, Mexico).
We are expecting about 15 young researchers from each country. In addition, a few established researchers will give keynote lectures and will act as mentors to the early career researchers during the workshop, sharing their experience and knowledge.
The confirmed Keynote Speakers so far are:
Prof. Sophien Kamoun – The Sainsbury Laboratory, UK
Dr. Leighton Pritchard – The James Hutton Institute, UK
Dr. Alfredo Herrera Estrella – LANGEBIO, CINVESTAV, Mexico
Dr. Ángel Alpuche – IPICYT, Mexico
The workshop will provide a unique opportunity for sharing research expertise and networking. During the workshop early career researchers will have the opportunity to present their research in the form of a short oral presentation and discuss this with established researchers from the UK and Mexico.

Participants must have a research or academic position (a permanent post, research contract, or fellowship etc) at a recognised research institution either in the UK or Mexico
