Register now for the opening of Soil, the Earth's Tender Skin Exhibition at Summerhall to mark the UN International Year of Soil and to celebrate the health and diversity of Scotland's soils today and in the future.
The UN declared 2015 the International Year of Soils (IYS) to raise awareness among civil society and decision makers about the profound importance of soil for human life, in matters such as food security, climate change adaptation and mitigation, ecosystem services, poverty alleviation and sustainable development.
The exhibition at Summerhall will provide a creative platform for showcasing Scotland's active engagement with the Earth's Tender Skin, using the best available scientific information and building on all dimensions of sustainable development.
The evening will feature an opportunity to view the exhibition from 5:30- 6 pm followed by a series of inspirational talks from 6 pm on the key topics of the International Year of Soil.
Join the opening of the Soil, the Earth's Tender Skin exhibition not as an isolated event but as part of a continuing process of advocacy and partnership between Scotland and the United Nations.
