Andrea is a GIS / Spatial Analyst within the Information and Computational Sciences Group in Aberdeen.
He has been employed at the James Hutton Institute since 2012 and been involved in a wide range of national and local research projects for the Scottish Government such as RESAS (Scottish Strategic Research programme), LUSP (Aberdeenshire Strategy Pilot), NT-LSM (Land Sustainable Management), Potential development for Wind Farm (Perth & Kinross). He is using multi-criteria analysis and modelling to manipulate the land use data and analyse the impact of this change on the Ecosystem Services.
Andrea has a background in geology and hydrogeology. His research interests are in Ecosystem Service modelling and spatial planning. His work focuses on developing tools to investigate the implication of future land use change on the ES through the use of scenarios prediction. The use of these tools and how they can sustain the decision-making process at national and international policy level, as well as the multi-functional aspect of the landscape variability are also part of his interests.
