The GROW Observatory (GROW) is a European-wide project engaging thousands of growers, scientists and others passionate about the land. We will discover together, using simple tools to better manage soil and grow food, while contributing to vital scientific environmental monitoring.

Over the comings months, GROW will provide opportunities to enable growers to make sense of data in relation to their soil, site and growing practices. This online event is GROW’s first live, online discussion, bringing scientists together with GROWers to exchange knowledge and questions about soil data.

In this webinar, delivered by GROW lead educators, we will explore and discuss some of the results provided by participants, as well as considering the wider importance of soils and cultivation techniques. Although we are sharing these results now, this is only the beginning of the GROW journey, and we would love all those who are interested in soils, growing food, and citizen science to join us. During the event we will be taking your live questions specifically about soil, sites and growing practices.

GROW’s lead educators are Dr Drew Hemment (University of Dundee), Dr Naomi van der Velden (Permaculture Association Britain), and Dr Blair Mckenzie (The James Hutton Institute).
