Starting in 2007, the Institute has been highlighting how soils play a crucial role in almost every aspect of our lives. A series of public events are championing the importance of this under-rated resource for our food, fuel, wildlife, water – even our climate – but also warn us of the potentially irreversible damage if we continue to take soil for granted.
