Dr Paul Hallett, Delivering Sustainable Production Systems Theme Leader at The James Hutton Institute will deliver this seminar entitled "G x E + MSG = Sustainable Agricultural Production".
This talk will discuss the development and delivery of the Delivering Sustainable Production Systems Theme. The James Hutton Institute is one of the few institutes internationally with the in-house capacity to deliver drastic improvements to increase the sustainable production of food and other products on land. Not only do we have a world-leading interactive programme of environment (E) and plant (G) sciences, but also the enhanced input of socioeconomics (S), geographical sciences (G) and modelling (M).
Paul will present a few examples of where our current research is cutting-edge, discuss how we can bridge sites and disciplines for the next phase of research on sustainability and use our breadth of skills to open up new opportunities for international links and funding. This includes taking advantage of the recent surge in interest from funders and industry on food security and sustainable agriculture. Most importantly, Paul will open the floor for audience input.
This seminar will take place at The James Hutton Institute Aberdeen and will be broadcast live to the Dundee site.
