Climate change has the potential to have significant impacts on our coastal communities through increased storm events and sea level rise. An evaluation tool has been developed to compare Scotland’s coastal management policies against future scenarios of climate change. The effect of sea level rise on tidal and flood limits was mapped using a high resolution digital elevation model and an adapted hydrological routine. The work identifies implications for the coastal landscape and allows policy options to be evaluated against the provision of coastal services.
