Jos Milner, Faculty of Forestry and Wildlife Management, Hedmark University College, Norway, will deliver this seminar entitled "Supplementary feeding in Norwegian moose populations - wildlife management or sustainable meat production?".
Moose hunting is of high social and economic importance throughout Scandinavia. However, high moose numbers lead to conflicts with the forestry industry as well as vehicle collisions. Supplementary forage is increasingly being supplied during winter as a mitigation measure. Here we examine some of its consequences and consider the economic viability of feeding in 2 Norwegian moose populations.
This seminar will take place at The James Hutton Institute Aberdeen.
