My research interests span several areas of animal ecology and have included population ecology, nutritional constraints on reproduction and fitness and other interactions between animals and their environment. Previous studies have involved a range of species from mammals and birds to reptiles and amphibians. I do not, however, currently have significant active research input to the Scottish Government Strategic Research Programme (SRP).
I am currently Theme Co-ordinator for the Natural Assets Theme (Theme 1) of the SRP and Portfolio Co-ordinator for the James Hutton Institute. As Co-ordinator, I work with others to co-ordinate both Theme and Institute systems and procedures for administration, monitoring, reporting, management and other aspects of the RESAS programme, and act as a co-ordination point and key conduit for information and communication between Themes, Institutes and RESAS. I am also Scientific Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer of the James Hutton Institute and currently act as secretariat for the SEFARI Directors Executive Committee
