This year’s annual Fruit for the Future event will feature talks on the James Hutton Institute fruit breeding programmes, new and emerging pest and diseases of soft fruit, and research on new crop opportunities.
Field tours will enable visitors to see and taste the latest new raspberries in the breeding plots, hear about new methods for assessing environmental impacts on plants and see some of our experimental work on national and international projects. A range of trade stands will also be available for visitors.
The event is for farmers, agronomists, representatives of the food and drink industries, scientists and others interested in soft fruit and consists of a seminar programme followed by a tour of the breeding plots, with fruit tasting and current field experiments.
