The overall goal of the NEWBIE network is to enable new entrants to successfully establish sustainable farm businesses in Europe.
Joining up with the Newbie network provides unique ability to shape the outcome of the newbie project. By registering with Newbie [5], interested parties will gain access to all of outputs of the project. These include a regular newsletter of new entrant news, ability to apply for Best New Entrant Business Model Award [2], and access to a network of regional advisory professionals, new entrant farmers, and agricultural researchers. One can also join up with Newbie UK at an upcoming event [6] or on social media:
A key strategy of the NEWBIE project is learning from innovative new entrants across Europe. The Newbie Academy page [11] is aggregating some of the most innovative new entrant business models from the nine partner countries. Since we have been travelling around the UK, meeting innovative new entrants through case studies and new entrant videos which you can view here [12].
At Newbie UK, we're working to be abreast of the ongoing work of farmers, advisory services, and governments to support and research new entrant farming. Follow this link [6]to see a list of upcoming relevant events. Any questions about events you see? Send an email to Rachel Creaney [13].
