What is the right future for Scottish woodlands?
In ILUSC’s third webinar we reflect on how to plan and enable future forestry in Scotland. Join the conversation.
Welcome to our third lunchtime online webinar from the International Land Use Study Centre (ILUSC) at The James Hutton Institute, introduced by Dr Kerry Waylen, Deputy Director of ILUSC and with the discussion chaired by Dr Ruth Mitchell, The James Hutton Institute. In this event we bring together experts in in different aspects of forestry management and science. Our speakers are:
- Professor Kirsty Park, University of Stirling
- Dr Alessandro Gimona, The James Hutton Institute
- Emeritus Professor Douglas MacMillan
They will share their views on key options for future woodland management in Scotland, taking into evolving targets for woodland planting, expectations about the goals for forestry, and the growing pressures of climate, disease and other changes. The latter half of the event will include discussion with opportunity for the audience to ask questions.
