As part of the Aberdeen Satrosphere Science Centre’s “Green Energy Discovery Weekend” the James Hutton Institute’s Virtual Landscape Theatre will be showing a 3D model of the proposed offshore wind farm in Aberdeen Bay. The event is completely free and is suitable for visitors of all ages.

This interactive presentation will allow visitors of all ages to see what the wind turbines might look like and can fly out to see them up close.

  • Friday 15 November 2013 Green Energy Symposium
    250 primary school pupils are attending and will participate in exciting and engaging activities to help children explore and learn about the challenges we face relating to energy and the environment. Pupils will be encouraged to become aware, get informed, develop understanding and be inspired to do something with the idea of collective action making a difference.
  • Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November 2013 Green Energy Discovery Weekend
    The whole family are encouraged to come along to take part in a range of shows, hands-on workshops, discussion sessions and interactive exhibitions. These activities are designed to encourage curiosity, and provide inspiration and enjoyment through exploring and investigating the concepts of energy, energy sources and the environment.

The James Hutton Research Institute is the result of the merger in April 2011 of MLURI and SCRI. This merger formed a new powerhouse for research into food, land use, and climate change.
