Delegates from 16 countries around the world will be in Dundee next week to attend an international workshop hosted by The James Hutton Institute.

The 4th International Workshop on Barley Leaf Blights is being held at the West Park Centre and has attracted more than 70 delegates from as far afield as Australia and Uruguay. The event was originally scheduled to be hosted in the Czech Republic but The James Hutton Institute stepped in to run the event when that was cancelled by organisers.

The workshop will include sessions on Epidemiology and disease management, Resistance breeding, Pathogen populations and variation, Molecular plant-pathogen interactions, and a special topic: Ramularia.

Tours of The James Hutton Institute at Dundee and SAC field trials at Boghall near Edinburgh are also included along with some whisky tasting and sightseeing. The workshop takes place from 27-29 June.
