May winner of Water Works competition announced
The May winner of our monthly schools photographic competition Water Works is Amy Coates-Walker, who is in primary 6 at Airyhall Primary, Aberdeen.
Describing her entry Amy said: "This is a photo I took in Australia of a family of Ducks, they where swimming with a boy duck earlier that I think was the dad, this picture shows wildlife's use of water as a way of travel."
Judging her entry the winner the judges added: "An image representing the role of water as a habitat for wildlife. Strong diagonal composition with the family of ducks at the front of the ripples in the water."
The judges also highly commended entries from Freya Lynn of Wormit Primary in Fife and Austin Beveridge of Airyhall Primary, Aberdeen.

Full details of the competition and how to enter can be found here. A winner will be chosen each month as well as an overall winner for the year who will receive vouchers and a canvas print of their photograph.
The Water Works competition is being run by CREW, the Centre of Expertise for Waters.
