I am  a research assistant with over 20 years experience at the Institute. Originally trained in farm animal reproduction and nutrition, I made the leap into Social Research in 2013. As a square peg in a round hole I found the first year or so very challenging, but I've always enjoyed a challenge and am now thoroughly immersed in SEGS. I particularly enjoy the qualitative aspects of my job, interviewing all sorts of  interesting people, organizing and running focus groups and workshops. I work primarily in livestock biosecurity but I am also involved in other diverse projects e.g. Tree of Knowledge and Towards carbon positive through improved farming.

The following Publications have not yet been migrated to the James Hutton Institute's Pure service and relate to the research outputs from the two legacy organisations: The Macaulay Land Use Research Institute and The Scottish Crop Research Institute.
