I am a social anthropologist, with over 10 years of ethnographic research experience based on fieldwork in Ecuador, Peru and the UK. Both in Latin America and in Scotland, my research has explored the entanglements between social, political, and technological change  – particularly in local and community-based settings.

Sam Poskitt

Sam is an Environmental Social Scientist with a background in Geography, Environmental Anthropology and International Development. He specialises in participatory approaches for research, learning, and decision-making in relation to tackling social-ecological challenges.

Pauline Miller

Pauline joined the James Hutton Institute in early 2015 as a Research Fellow in Remote Sensing and is now an Honorary Associate of the Institute. She is a geomatics research scientist with more than ten years experience across a range of techniques and application domains. She specialises in the development of geospatial methodologies and solutions for challenges in the earth and environmental sciences.

Kathryn Colley

Kathryn is an environmental psychologist in the Social, Economic and Geographical Sciences department.  Her work focuses on person-environment interactions and their role in shaping individual behaviour and wellbeing.

Katherine Irvine

I am a senior researcher in conservation behaviour / environmental psychology focusing on people-environment relationships. I draw on an interdisciplinary background in molecular biology, natural resource management, conservation behaviour and environmental psychology to investigate the interface between people and their environmental settings (for example, natural, built, home, office) with an aim to develop bridges between issues of ecological quality, health/wellbeing and sustainability.

Sebastian Raubach

I am a Research Software Engineer (RSE) working as part of the Information & Computational Sciences (ICS) Department. I am responsible for the conceptualisation, management and development of cutting-edge mobile applications, databases and web applications for funders (BBSRC, EU, CGIAR, Crop Trust, Norwegian Government) as well as commercial breeding companies through James Hutton Limited (JHL). My role is to drive the development of software solutions for plant genetic resources collections, phenotypic data collection and visualization tools.
