Chen Wang

Dr Chen Wang is a Landscape and Visualisation Scientist, who joined the Information and Computational Sciences group at the James Hutton Institute in 2010.

Andrew Copus

Andrew Copus is an Honorary Associate of the Institute. He joined the Social, Economic and Geographical Sciences Group in March 2013. Between 2005 and 2018 he occupied a part-time secondment as a Senior Research Fellow at Nordregio (Nordic Centre for Spatial Development, Stockholm). From 2005 to 2013 he was based in the Centre for Remote and Rural Studies, University of the Highlands and Islands. Previously Andrew was leader of the Rural Economy Team at the Scottish Agricultural College, Aberdeen (now Scotlands Rural College, SRUC).

Mags Currie

Mags is a senior researcher working in the Social, Economic and Geographical Sciences Department within the People and Places group. She joined the James Hutton Institute in January 2013.

Allan Sim

I am an Honorary Associate of the Institute. As a staff member I supported scientists providing technical input to a variety of research projects. I also managed the Plant Growth facilities at the Craigiebuckler site for the past 20 years and have extensive knowledge of the capabilities, set up and the maintenance of the equipment.

Lucinda Robinson

Lucinda works in the Ecological Sciences department as a molecular microbiologist.  Lucinda joined the Institute in 2007 as a research assistant in the Molecular Microbiology lab. She initially worked in the Soils group preparing and analysing soil DNA for the National Soils Inventory of Scotland (NSIS), and then moved to the Ecological Sciences department in 2015.

Dominic Duckett

Dominic is a Honorary Associate researcher of our Social, Economic and Geographical Sciences Department (SEGS), working with social theories of risk. He

Dr. Mark Wilkinson

Mark Wilkinson is a senior research scientist in catchment hydrology and Co-director of the Climate-Positive Farming Initiative (CPFI). Mark’s research

Mads Troldborg

I am an environmental engineer with interest and expertise in environmental risk assessment, uncertainty estimation and modelling of environmental systems.

Scot Ramsay

My research interests span several areas of animal ecology and have included population ecology, nutritional constraints on reproduction and fitness and other interactions between animals and their environment. Previous studies have involved a range of species from mammals and birds to reptiles and amphibians. I do not, however, currently have significant active research input to the Scottish Government Strategic Research Programme (SRP).

Dr. Carol-Ann Craig

I have a background both geochemistry and environmental analysis where I spent my postgraduate years developing technical methods for the accurate and precise analysis of geological (rocks, fossils, waters) and environmental (waters, plant, animal) materials using mass spectrometry. I specialised in looking at the isotopic signature of rocks and minerals using Thermal Ionisation Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) and Multi Collector-Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS).
