The Hutton Hub
We are delighted to announce our Aberdeen site has re-opened, having now been enhanced, with suites available for hire all equipped with the latest technologies. Financed by the Scottish Government’s Just Transition Fund, the Macaulay Development Trust and the UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, the Hub, a new multi-million-pound development, features a variety of spaces which are open to hire for businesses and the public.
These spaces offer a space for academics, businesses and the public to collaborate and use cutting-edge technology, including our 360 degree immersive suite, to help the north-east achieve a Just Transition to Net Zero.

| Immersive Suite | A 360-degree fully immersive suite equipped with a media server, games engine and surround sound; allowing for videos, graphics, models and simulated environments to be projected on all four walls. |
| Podcast Suite | A state-of-the-art podcasting, video and sound recording studio. |
| Conference Suite 1A&B | A fantastic space which can be hired as the full space, with capacity of up to 120 guests, or as one or both halves of the space, each with capacity of up to 50 guests. This space can be adjusted to multiple different set ups as required. |
| Conference Suite 2 | One of our larger spaces, ideal for holding talks, conference or events. This space can be adjusted to multiple different set ups as you require. |
| Breakout and Smaller Meeting Rooms | A separate breakout space ideal for a private space away from the larger group or also for hosting catering breaks for your delegates. Two boardroom style meeting spaces can also be hired for smaller meetings, breakout groups or hosting an Exec team at your company event. |
| Breakout and Smaller Meeting Rooms | Our excellent café is now open to the public and is a space where members of the public can drop by to grab a coffee and learn more about the Institute’s research. Café Opening Times – 8:30 am – 2 pm (Hot Food Service ends at 1:30 pm) |
Accessibility
We have the following facilities available for visitors with access needs:
- All of our facilities are accessible for wheelchair users
- A unisex disabled toilet is available on the main floor
- Disabled parking is available
- Guide dogs are welcome throughout the building
- Seats can be allocated by contacting the events organiser
- Induction loops are fitted and available for use in the Conference Suites
- We will take all reasonable steps to provide additional facilities and help if required
Catering
Specialist catering is provided for our Craigiebuckler site by Elior and a variety of palates and requirements can be catered for. All catering requests and queries can be discussed with the Venue Services team when enquiring and/or booking.
