Our sites remain on a restricted access condition, and only staff who are doing essential site-specific work or tasks are on site. All other colleagues continue to work from home for the time being.
We have excellent and free to use video conference and conference call systems and are happy to make these facilities available to help you engage with us. Meetings are taking place via video conference with participants joining individually from their own locations; check with the relevant member of staff for advice.

Come and spend a fun family day on the farm!
The Institute will be taking part in Open Farm Sunday 2017 on 11 June.
Come along and see what we do here on our very special and rather unusual farm at Mylnefield. As well as being a farm it’s an open-air laboratory for our scientists to do all sorts of crop trials, experimental farming techniques and projects to see how farming and the environment can work better together.
There will be tractor trailer tours, activities and experiments to learn more about food from crops, understand the importance of soil microbiology and design your own insect monitoring trap. get a close up view of our farm machinery and you can plant up a seedling or two to take home. Bring a picnic or grab something from the hot food catering stand. Many exhibits will be under cover so don’t worry if it’s a wet day.
Get involved before and during the event at www.farmsunday.org
