Waste Utilisation

Waste Utilisation MapChanges in the EU and UK regulatory framework mean that alternatives to landfill and dumping at sea must be found for a range of organic wastes. Recycling to land is a favoured option, but there are both associated benefits and risks, in large part related to properties of the soil. 

This map shows an assessment of these factors combined to give a suitability indicator.
