Venue hire and rental: We have a variety of spaces available for hire across our Dundee, Aberdeen, and Glensaugh sites. With new facilities and buildings being developed at both our Aberdeen and Dundee locations, we can ensure you have access to the latest AV and VR technologies. We offer spaces suitable for both large and small gatherings, as well as Glensaugh Farm, which provides a stunning backdrop — perfect for a corporate away day.

Invergowrie campus >
The £62m Tay Cities Region Deal funded project has delivered a brand new building which houses some exceptional spaces.
Glensaugh campus >
Two rooms can hold up to 40 people each, theatre style. The rooms can also be used in boardroom style.

Craigiebuckler campus

We are delighted to announce our Aberdeen site has just been revamped with suites for hire equipped with the latest technologies.

These are located in the Hutton Hub, our new multi-million pound development which offers a space for academics, businesses and the public to collaborate and use cutting-edge technology to help the north-east achieve a Just Transition to Net Zero.

Financed by the Scottish Government’s Just Transition Fund, the Macaulay Development Trust and the UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, the Hub is located at the Hutton’s Craigiebuckler campus and will feature top-of-the-range technology and facilities which are open to hire for businesses and the public.

Included in these new facilities are:

  • A 360-degree Immersive Suite equipped with a media server, games engine and surround sound – allowing for videos, graphics, models and simulated environments to be projected on all four walls
  • A café where members of the public can drop by to grab a coffee and learn more about the Hutton’s research
  • VR and augmented reality headsets
  • Touch tables
  • An eye tracker
  • A video and sound editing suite
  • A podcasting suite
  • Two spacious lecture theatres – ideal for hosting conferences and events

As recipients of Scottish, UK and international funding, the Hutton’s research places the UK at the forefront of innovative solutions to pressing global challenges such as energy and environmental security whilst supporting the national economy. With the next decade expected to be pivotal in addressing the challenges of climate change mitigation, the Hutton is dedicated to creating high-tech, hirable facilities where businesses can work together to tackle the most pressing issues presented by the climate and nature crises.

Accessibility

We have the following facilities available for visitors with access needs:

  • Ramped access for wheelchair users is accessible at all times except for the New Seminar Room in Invergowrie
  • The main passenger lift accommodates a powered wheelchair, which will enable access to most rooms in the new building in Invergowrie, though not the New Seminar Room
  • A unisex disabled toilet is available on the ground floor in the new building at Invergowrie, but not for the New Seminar Room
  • Disabled parking is available
  • Guide dogs are welcome throughout the building
  • Seats can be allocated by contacting the events organiser
  • Induction loops are fitted in the new auditorium but are not available in either the New Seminar Room or at Glensaugh
  • We will take all reasonable steps to provide additional facilities and help if required

Catering

Specialist catering is provided across our Invergowrie and Craigiebuckler sites by Elior and a variety of palates and requirements can be catered for. Packed lunches can be provided for events at Glensaugh as there are no kitchens or suitable food preparation areas on site.

Our open science approach means that we have a variety of offices, laboratories and glasshouses available to rent on a long-term basis at our sites at Invergowrie, Aberdeen and Glensaugh.

We have already welcomed a number tenants across three sites who enjoy the space and facilities on offer as well as the proximity to Hutton scientists and expertise.
