Urmi Ghosh

Urmi is a Digital Mineralogist in the Environmental and Biochemical Sciences group with a keen interest in various fields of Earth Sciences. She did her Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur (2022), completed her master's degree in Geology from IIT Bhubaneswar, and a bachelor's degree in Geology (Hons.) from Presidency University, Kolkata.

Nick Roxburgh

Nick Roxburgh joined the James Hutton Institute as a Social Systems Simulation Modeller in 2021. He specialises in developing agent-based models of social and socio-environmental systems, with a particular focus at present on agriculture, food value chains, global food trade, and rural economies.

Niamh Mahon

Niamh Mahon is an environmental social scientist, with an interdisciplinary background, working in the Social, Economic and Geographical Sciences (SEGS) group at the James Hutton Institute. Niamh is interested in stakeholders’, and in particular farmers’ practices, and their perspectives and understandings of sustainability in farming and the wider food system. 

David Boldrin

Dr David Boldrin (BSc in Biology; MSc in Environmental biology; PhD in Civil Engineering) is a researcher in Plant Soil Mechanisms at The James Hutton Institute and a research fellow in the EPSRC-funded project “Climate Adaptation Control Technologies for Urban Spaces” at the University of Dundee.

Alon Zuta

Alon is a landscape agroecologist with a background in geosciences, geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing. He holds a BSc degree from the University of Victoria, Canada and an MSc from the Lund University, Sweden. His work involves the use of GIS, remote sensing applications, programming, and conceptual modelling to evaluate landscape changes and to greater understand a landscape’s potential for sustainable agricultural practices.
