The James Hutton Institute's commercial subsidiary, James Hutton Limited, has announced a partnership with IPRIS, a global organisation focused on helping companies, universities and government labs manage their intellectual property portfolios.

With over 20 years’ experience of managing plant breeder’s rights, James Hutton Limited’s global networks cover essential countries for the protection of plant-related intellectual property.

The exclusive partnership will expand IPRIS’ network beyond patent and trademark renewals and enable the company to offer a full suite of renewals for all eligible forms of intellectual property including Plant Breeder’s Rights.

Dr Jonathan Snape, Head of James Hutton Limited, said: “We are delighted to be working with IPRIS and combining our expertise to enable us to offer a comprehensive range of services to our clients.”

IPRIS was formed in 2004 by intellectual property and technology transfer experts in Switzerland, and its expertise and reach were expanded through a marketing and customer service partnership with IP Pragmatics Limited in 2005.
